Why don’t they have names but letters? It’s not a lack of imagination. Quite the opposite.
This small village preserves extremely important documents, handed down by notaries or simply by ordinary people with a natural desire to preserve a memory: diaries of prices, family memories, apothecaries’ herbals, post-war visions, in a silent narrative uninterrupted over the centuries, making this place a land of people who attempted to leave their mark through writing. Scripta manent, verba volant. Linari was an important notarial town in the Middle Ages.
The first document attested is from 1072. There were dozens of notaries from this place, a truly large number for a small transit village that once had 1,500 inhabitants. These are mostly notarial parchments. These define the calligraphy of the time: uncial, chancery, and merchant, the changing of supports and inks. The documents written in latin abbreviations, extremely difficult for the untrained eye to decipher, have a charm we have not wanted to forget. The “letters” are our tribute to that immense heritage first preserved by the Badia di San Michele a Passignano and now by the State Archives of Florence. A tribute to the tenacious will to remember its inhabitants, both past and present.
The Apartment A
Has a large living-room-dining room, for this reason is suitable to host small groups of friends that can find in this accommodation a comfortable shared space, where they can have a good time together. It’s completely situated on a ground floor with a floor space of 78 square meters. The entrance is walk-in and it overlooks the farmyard close to the swimming pool, where this apartment has table and chairs to eat outside.
After the entrance, there’s a living room from which you can reach the kitchen and the sleeping area consisting in two bedrooms: one double room with matrimonial bed and with private bathroom with shower and one bedroom close to a second bathroom, with two single beds. The apartment can host up to 6 persons if you use the sofa-bed in the living room.

The Apartment B
Is a land-roof of 61 square meters. The entrance is in the garden in front of the swimming pool. At the ground floor there’s a large room with kitchen and living-room. You can reach the sleeping area at the first floor with a travertine staircase. The sleeping area has a bathroom with shower and two bedrooms: the first one is a double room with matrimonial bed and a writing-desk with view on the swimming pool. The other one has two single beds and view on an internal farmyard.
This room can easily become matrimonial room and it can makes the apartment suitable for two couples that want to spend their vacation together. The apartment can host up to 6 persons if you use the sofa-bed in the living room. The outdoor furniture is located on farmyard in front of the pool.
Apartments in Chianti
The Apartment C
Is very intimate and bright. Develops on the ground floor with an extension of 50 square meters. The independent entrance is situated on a very private side of the building with views over vineyards and across the valley below. After the entrance there’s the living room with kitchen and then you can reach the bathroom and the double room with matrimonial bed, passing under a brick arch. This room overlooks the internal farmyard and for this reason it’s very quiet and silent.
This apartment is particularly suitable for couples, but it can host up to four persons using sofa-bed in the living room. The apartment has outdoor furniture located in front of its entrance and placed on the grass.
The Apartment D
Has a floor space of 50 square meters and it’s it caracterized by a large glass arch door that makes the apartment very bright. You can reach it from the farmyard, close to the barbecue area and children’s playground. Entering from a hall with kitchen and living room with a double sofa-bed, overhanges by a gorgeous brik ceiling with a cross vault. From here you can reach the sleeping area consisting of a double room with matrimonial bed, and here an a french windows opens up to the swimming pool and the garden.
This apartment is equipped with outdoor furniture on the main entrance and on exit to the pool. It can accommodate up to four people.
Apartments E
Is the smallest one of our trilocal apartment. Has a floor space of 50 square meters. It has two floors with an entrance on the internal farmyard, situated close to the barbecue area and children’s playground.
After the entrance there’s a lovely small living room with kitchen and a closet. From a travertine stairs you can reach the sleeping area where we have a bedroom with two single beds, a double room with matrimonial bed and a bathroom with shower. It can host up to four persons. The apartment has table and chairs outside, just in front of the door in the middle of rose and lavender flowers.
The Apartment F
Has a floor space of 68 square meters. Situated at the first floor, has an a travertine and bricks external stairs close to the swimming pool.
After the entrance there’s the living room with kitchen, in the living room there’re also two sofa-beds situated in front of the fireplace. This is a very roomy and bright apartment. It’s suitable to host both families and friend’s groups also during the winter. From the living room you can reach the sleeping area with a bedroom with two single beds, a double room with matrimonial bed and a bathroom with shower. The outdoor furniture of this apartment is close to the stairs entrance. Under the porch there’s a small wrought iron table, accompanied by two chairs located between red geraniums.
The Apartment J
is on two levels, first floor and ground floor. It has a large and bright living room with sofabed for two persons and entrance by the internal courtyard near by the barbecue area and the children’s playground. The kitchen is in a separate room with access to the garden with table and chairs to eat outside. On the ground floor there’s also a bathroom with shower. On the first floor there’re two double bedrooms with matrimonial bed, and a bathroom with no shower. The apartment can host up to 6 persons. The apartment is suitable for overcoming of architectural barriers.
In fact, the apartment entrance, accessible from the living room with a sofa bed for overnight stay, is equipped with appropriate footboards; the kitchen has an access ramp and the bathroom is suitable for disabled.
The Apartment K
Is the biggest among our apartments. It’s built on two floors, ground and first. It has a wide living room with a fireplace and a double sofa bed; independent kitchen with access to the garden and to your outside table; bathroom with shower and hallway.
Upstairs is the sleeping area with large windows, two double bedroom, bathroom with shower and a study with single sofa bed. View on the vineyard. The apartment can accommodate up to 7 people.
